L Cpl Tristan Bonar Pursley
Twenty two years ago today, our family was blessed with the birth of Tristan Bonar Pursley. Named for his maternal great-grandfather, Rayford Franklin Bonar, Tristan bears strinking resemblences to his name-sake. Tristan's picture is on the left. His great-grandfather's picture is on the left. Tristan is a marine ~ his great-grandfather a calvaryman. Tristan fought in Afghanistan ~ his great-grandfather fought in Texas. Tristan, thankfully, was never wounded ~ his great grandfather was shot through the knee by a sniper and his horse killed from under him. Both men are quiet and both love history. Both men take their responsibilities to their country and family seriously. Both men love the land they own. Tristan never met his great-grandfather, yet the virtues and morals held so dear by his great-grandfather are exemplified in him. Your family is proud of you, Tristan ~ proud of the man you have become ... and in some way, I am sure Grandpa is proud of you, too.
